Nearly three years ago, I almost lost my son to a terrible car accident. He is remarkably fine now. Some would say it is a miracle how he recovered from a severe brain injury. And I am truly blessed.
Through this, we have all been forever affected, but grateful to be able to move on. My healing continues through writing. I am currently sharing a daily blog post per day from the book I wrote about that year, (and it starts with explaining the book title, Why "The Syrup Maze."
A part of that "experience" was a very frightening reality and question: How well is a hospital you may find yourself or a loved one in able to handle your special diet?
This post, Improvements - but no Nutrition, post #13, was just the beginning of awareness for me that nutrition was not a top priority.
And down the road a bit - if I wasn't there - he would have been given gluten in the hospital. And even later, in rehab, he WAS given food with gluten.
It is a situation that needs change!
